Abstract
- This article focuses on world politics. In South Africa the Minister of Justice recently announced a system of punishment based on the theory that the severity of a sentence should be determined by the position and race of the offender. Thus, he held in effect, true equality might be achieved by giving a white man a six-months sentence and a colored man a six-years sentence for identical offenses-the social and personal effect on the white man would be so much greater per month than that on the African Americans. Meanwhile, the Interallied Commission of Control has finally finished its fifty-page report on German disarmament, with twelve lengthy annexes, and dispatched it to the Allied governments.
