Abstract
- The article presents an analysis which examines the effect of drug violence in the years of war against drug trafficking organizations on Mexican immigrants. It investigates whether interior enforcement has deterred immigrants selectively by raising the likelihood to observe immigrants having prior migration experience. An unprecedented growth in state and local immigration enforcement has been observed, while immigration law falls within the federal government's jurisdiction.
