Abstract
- The article calls on the U.S. Congress to recognize deep reinforcement learning algorithms (DRLAs) as employees under the works made for hire doctrine of copyright law. Topics discussed include current status of copyright law in the U.S. and discusses how DRLAs challenge two important components of authorship: creativity and the human authorship requirement, as of June 2019; and artificial intelligence and the development of its respective subfields.
