Abstract

The article discusses the time-table of minimum wage procedure under the Fair Labor Standards Act in the U.S. Under the statute, the procedure falls into two phases, the first or industry committee phase and the Administrator phase. The industry committee phase includes the appointment by the Administrator of the industry committee, its meetings and hearings, wage recommendation and report while the Administrator phase consists of review of the industry committee records and recommendation, public hearing, oral argument and issuance of the minimum wage order. The success of the Act is dependent upon the effective functioning of its minimum wage procedure.
