Abstract

This article focuses on various issues that are of concern for the world. Unofficial Americans in China have an instinctive sympathy with the Nationalist uprising of which the officials and newspapermen seem incapable. Japan is a volcanic country, and some of her philosophers are fond of explaining her history as that of a volcanic people, accustomed to earthquakes and always on the verge of disaster. Tokyo averages two perceptible shocks a week, apart from the minor disturbances detected only by a seismograph.
