NOTES ON RECENT TRENDS IN THE APPLICATION OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES.

The article discusses recent developments that emphasize the significance of the social sciences in the modern life. First of these developments is the planning of the international exhibition "A Century of Progress," with the participation of the Social Science Research Council. Another important development is appointment of the President's Research Committee on Social Trends by U.S. President Herbert Hoover. Last, but not the least, is the widespread application of social sciences and social research in the period 1929-1933.
