Abstract

As long as there is a Nazi government in Berlin, nobody in Holland will feel safe. Not a daily newspaper, save perhaps one, leans to the Nazi cause. It is true that bankers and traders, and Holland is a nation of traders, would be sorry to see Germany wrecked, since it is their natural hinterland and a chief customer, but those same bankers and traders are heartily behind every move to perfect the arrangements for flooding a large part of Holland to keep out the Nazis. There will be suffering, however, if the war continues a long time, for export and import trade is extremely important and mobilization has entailed great expense.
