Abstract

The end of Egypt's long fight for independence, first from Turkish tale and then from the dominant influence of the British, seems dose at hand. The Egyptian delegation has brought before the General Assembly of the United Nations a demand that Great Britain be asked to remove its troops and military installations from the territory of Egypt and terminate its administration of the Sudan. At the same time Egypt is actively opposing the proposal of the United Nations Commission on Palestine to partition that country between Jews and Arabs.
