Abstract
- The article discusses the book "A Treasury of Mexican Folkways," by Frances Toor. Mexican folklore is one of those large, rich, tangled areas into which many have ventured and which few have successfully penetrated. It has become a happy hunting ground for would be writers in search of a subject for in this largely uncharted field practically anything goes, and one man's !guess is as good as another's. No comprehensive study has been made of the subject since the days of the Spanish Conquest, when certain priests arid missionaries recorded! with perception and acumen, the folkways of the conquered.
