Abstract: We investigated the H<subscript>2</subscript>S/CO<subscript>2</subscript> gas mixture absorption rate and selectivity of 2-(tert-butylamino)ethanol (TBE) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) using a static gas absorption method. The H<subscript>2</subscript>S and CO<subscript>2</subscript> gas mixture was pumped into a reaction kettle filled with sterically hindered amines solubilized in water. The influence of time on the H<subscript>2</subscript>S absorption rate and selectivity of the sterically hindered amine solutions was investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
