Abstract

This article focuses on a series of published public affair pamphlets "Radio is Yours," by Jerome H. Spingarn. In thirty-one tightly written pages "Radio Is Yours" gives an excellent review of commercial radio, soap operas, and the famous Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) "Blue Book" of last year. It points out that as far back as 1928 the Federal Radio Commission, which later became the FCC, made it cleat that listeners are given no protection unless it is given to them by this commission. A lucid account of the discussion of public issues on the radio defines the FCC's responsibility:
