Abstract
- The article discusses Americans' dietary habits in relation to healthier sources of proteins such as beans, peas, and nuts, and it mentions how many Americans consume excessive amounts of read-meat-based proteins. Protein-rich plants are examined, along with the associations between red meat consumption and diseases such as Type 2 diabetes and cancer. Greenhouse-gas emissions reduction are assessed, along with food sources such as algae, insects, and soy-based tofu.
