Abstract

The article offers information on study of Glossopharyngeal insufflation (GI) and papillary muscles using cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). It mentions GI develop due to greatly reduced end‐systolic volumes, relative to intrathoracic hypovolemial; Cardiovascular consequences of GI like reduced coronary blood flow; and hypovolemic conditions can occur after intense GI (lung packing), as practiced shortly before breathhold deep diving.
