Abstract: Results from a feasibility study on the use of acidic side products from chlorine-dioxide production to bleach fibrous intermediates in order to produce cellulose powder using acid hydrolysis are presented. Bleached chemical-thermal-mechanical pulps from fir and aspen wood and technical conifer and deciduous celluloses were used as the fibrous intermediates.
