Abstract

An ultra-wideband vertical coaxial-to-single-ridge waveguide transition is designed to cover Ku-, K-, and Ka-bands simultaneously. The simulated and measured back-to-back transitions have achieved better than 15-dB return loss within 12.8–40 GHz. The transition can also be a direct transition to the ridge gap waveguide (RGW). In addition, a similar concept is used to design a wideband coaxial-to-double-ridge waveguide transition to feed symmetric and asymmetric double ridge waveguide on a bandwidth ratio of more than 4:1. These transitions will be used to feed broadband ridge and RGW power splitters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
