Abstract
- The Senator Harry F. Byrd, who owns something like 2 per cent of all the apple trees in the United States, has proposed for the Taft-Hartley Act, for employees. The National Labor Relations Board has just ruled that they are violating the Taft-Hartley Act. They have been on strike against the O'Sullivan Rubber Co., for over two years, and after having been disenfranchised in a decertification election, they are now advised that they cannot continue picketing the plant down the road, and that their international union, the Rubber Workers, which has been giving them $25 a week strike benefits so that they' do not go hungry or lose their homes or possessions, must cease and desist from its nation-wide boycott of O'Sullivan products.
