Abstract

The article discusses the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) which is a multisystem autoimmune disease primarily affecting young females and that patients are susceptible to infections because of their defective immune system and the immunosuppressive treatment they receive. Also discussed is the study that determined the immune status against rubella in previously vaccinated childhood SLE patients before the start of treatment.
