A rare complication of balloon pulmonary angioplasty: Aortopulmonary window and its treatment.

The article presents a rare case of iatrogenic aortopulmonary window (APW) formation with congestive heart failure as a complication of balloon pulmonary angioplasty in a 5-year-old patient. The APW formation, particularly the aorta-pulmonary artery communication, was repaired by surgery five days after the angioplasty. Also mentioned are the possible complications of pulmonary angioplasty procedures like aneurysms, thrombosis, and vessel dissection or rupture.
