Abstract

The execution by firing squad of the five Catalonian labor leaders, carried out in spite of the protest of the International Federation of Free Trade Unions and other non-Communist organizations, has aroused a great outcry, especially in Europe and Latin America. The leaders are not among those who cherish the hope that American or any other influence will "liberalize" the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco regime. Franco's fascism is the real thing, and the executions in Barcelona are only a continuation of twelve years of repression and terror.
