Europe Holds Its Breath.

This article focuses on tussle between the Pentagon and the State Department over Korean War. The differences in emphasis between the Defense and State departments were reflected in the resolution presented to the United Nations Security Council. As passed by the Security Council, the resolution was designed to draw "the mantle of the U.N." more firmly around Anglo-American action in Korea, but it involved the U.N. in the conduct of the war less than had the original proposal of the Canadians, made a week ago.
