African Journal of Ecology special section—Camera trapping in Africa.

An editorial is presented which discusses camera trapping as the established tool to study biodiversity, especially terrestrial mammals. It also discusses the invitation offered to the periodical African Journal of Ecology to prepare a methodological camera trapping review paper, including the realization that each topic connected to it can not be summarized in one paper and challenge of conservationists and ecologists to handle camera trap datasets.
