Abstract

The article discusses the Kouilou Departement of the Republic of Congo as a less-known Congo‐Basin forest system biologically rich component, including depletion of flora and fauna through the production of firewood/charcoal and hunting to supply to the city of Pointe‐Noire. It also discusses the complexity of forest mammal survey and the impact of human on the establishment of biodiversity.
