Abstract

The paper presents a study on water quality, which can be influenced by biological, physical and chemical parameters of water. Water quality has the purpose of identifying the direction of water use for both domestic and industrial purposes and is of particular importance to humans and living organisms. In addition to the human factors that have a major impact on water quality (both for surface and for groundwater), there are also natural factors and anthropogenic activities. The purpose of the study is to analyze the indicators determined in surface water in the salt mine area in Targu Ocna, Romania and to identify potential pollution factors. The samples were collected from two points in the Slănic River and two points from the Trotuş River. They were analyzed 7 indicators such as pH, chloride, sulphate, calcium, sodium, filtrate residue, extractable substances. These values of this parameter were compared to the permissible limits according to the water quality standards. Following the water quality analyzes conducted on the Slănic River and the TrotuşRiver, the quality indicators tracked show that their value falls largely within the limits imposed by the legislation. Following the analysis of the water quality of the Slănic River and the Trotuş River, the quality indicators pursued highlight that the values of the indicator concentrations are higher downstream and lower upstream with the Salt Solution Section for the Slanic River and for the Trotuş River the concentrations of the indicators are higher upstream and lower downstream of the salt mine.
