Abstract

The precipitation surplus of the year 2009 has caused regional increase of the ground water table in the whole lowland region of Slovak Republic. The contribution deals with the analysis and the evaluation of the potential impact of treatment carried out through the Trnávka River on the groundwater level regime in the adjacent area in the county town of Trnava. The aim of the article is to refute the false presumption of incorrect technical solution of Trnávka stream training namely on the basis of similarity of the groundwater regime flow in the extreme period 2009 - 2010 with a similar status that already happened in the past (e.g. in the year 2006). Incorrectness of the arguments can be demonstrated by comparing the surface and groundwater level regime in the nearby Parná River basin, more precisely in the area of the Hrnčiarovce village where the observation borehole of the of State hydrological groundwater network is located with a weekly measurements frequency performed by Slovak Hydro-meteorological Institute (SHMI). According to the activities a detailed hydro-geological monitoring site along the Trnávka River has been established to find out the correct answer for the solution of the problem.
