Abstract

This article presents the political condition of the United States. It is the moment when the country desperately needs a leftward movement of wide appeal, the Republican Party has become the refuge of the arid Right. Its conservative guise is a fraud. A politician does not become a creative conservative by capitalizing the first letter of the word. In the coming campaign, liberals should not be intimidated by the outworn cliché that national stability depends on the existence of two major parties, each half liberal and half reactionary.
