Abstract

This article focuses on the increasing use of motels due to military coming to big cities. The author describes that in 1940's and 50's the demand for motels was at the peak. The people who traveled by their cars or motors found it the best and cheapest place to spend night while traveling long distance. But as the competition creeped, the motels became more professional. They started keeping the things for entertainment and comfort. They had television, radio and telephones. They had coffee shops. So the lodging became expensive, but the people had enough to bear the expenses.
