Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe imaging findings in a group of fetuses with suspected arachnoid cyst and to evaluate the clinical outcome of these pregnancies. Whenever possible, the results were compared with postnatal findings at the clinical, imaging and/or pathology examinations. In our study, more than half of the children (9/17) needed surgery, mostly because of related symptoms (compression of the cyst on adjacent structures and hydrocephaly), but the neurological outcome was mostly good.
