Abstract

The article focuses on general attitude of various television stations in the U.S. towards the concept and the work of editorializing. It is believed that some stations do editorialize, but in general the editorial voice of the most powerful and extensive of the news media comes out more squeak than thunder. Surveys made in 1963 showed that approximately a third of all TV stations were editorializing on a regular basis, the rest did so only on occasional basis. Moreover, 87 percent of the total time devoted to editorials was concerned with community, county or state subjects.
