Abstract

The article presents the American view over the perceived threat of the dominance of China over Asia. The U.S. Ambassador to Tokyo, Edwin O. Reischauer, has also upbraided the Japanese for not fully comprehending the realities of contemporary China. For one thing, the U.S. is sharply upset by Japan's leaping trade with China. Sino-Japanese commerce reached nearly $500 million in 1965, up more than 50 per cent from the previous year. In fact, China was Japan's fifth largest trading partner. In addition to that, the article presents information on various other information.
