Abstract

The visible light communication (VLC) technology has the characteristics of high transmission speed and environmental protection from electromagnetic interference, so it can be used to solve the shortcomings of traditional password access control, card access control, biometric access control in comparison efficiency and security performance. The visible light communication technology and access control technology are jointed to design a visible light communication access control system. The microcontrollers are used to store and process the password information, and the LED is used to transmit password information with pulse width modulation (PWM) and the photodiode is used to receive the optical signal to realize the transmission of the password information. The hardware design of this access control system is established and analyzed. The results showed that the system can work normally without any misjudgment and the comparison efficiency is higher.
