Explorations in the Apolitical.

This article presents experiences of the author while working at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) in Lima, Peru. The author had approached the institute looking for a job of teaching English as a foreign language work that he had done for two years in Japan. But knowing that the author had edited a magazine and was a poet and translator the director of the institute asked him to organize and edit a bilingual literary journal, sponsored by ICPNA. However, the author was told that the magazine would be apolitical since the board of directors would not allow money to be put into a publication that had a political influence.
