Abstract
- This article presents experiences of the author while working at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) in Lima, Peru. The author had approached the institute looking for a job of teaching English as a foreign language work that he had done for two years in Japan. But knowing that the author had edited a magazine and was a poet and translator the director of the institute asked him to organize and edit a bilingual literary journal, sponsored by ICPNA. However, the author was told that the magazine would be apolitical since the board of directors would not allow money to be put into a publication that had a political influence.
