Abstract

The article deals with the issues of the economic development of the light industry of Ukraine in the conditions of monopoly capitalism in the late XIX-th and early XX-th centuries, it was characterized the process of strengthening capitalist relations, the emergence and functioning of individual monopolistic unions. It was shown the activities of factories and plants the sectors of the light industry during the monopoly period. It was given the reference to the main publications devoted to this topic. It was analyzed changes in economic relations of Ukraine, that were accompanied by the processes of the industry monopolization. It was stated that the monopolies of the light industry sold their products not only through a network of trading offices, numerous sales agents, but often used the state apparatus through assistance in the system of organized procurement, access to commodity warehouses and legislative regulation of trade. The main kind of monopolistic associations in the light industry was a trust. Together with the large monopolies of the trust type and there were created local syndicates and they operated. They supplied their products to the regions under their control, to the sea and river ports of European Russia, to the enterprises for further production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
