Abstract
- This article focuses on the political campaigns run by the blacks in the South. Northern well-wishers pumped many thousands of dollars, total several million dollars into the Negroes' efforts to break into the political process. But recently when the Negroes, not exactly thrilled by the thought of giving their new votes to the same old white racist politicians, came up with some candidates of their own, they discovered that most Northerners with money were apparently no longer interested in helping them. And of course they cannot hope for effective financial support from either race in the South.
