Stability Analysis of Pipelines with Imperfect Structures Based on Nonlinear Large Deflection Theory.

Abstract

Due to the experimental value of the imperfect structure pipeline under the external load is far below the linear theoretical calculation value, the nonlinear large deflection theory was adopted. The stability of imperfect structural pipelines was studied by theoretical research and numerical simulation considering bending deformation and initial imperfections. The difference of critical load between numerical simulation and theoretical value was analyzed. It can be found: By numerical simulation, the critical load of the simulation fit with the nonlinear large deflection theory well. Compared with linear theory, the nonlinear large deflection theory described the stability of imperfect structures more accurately. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
