Abstract: The article reports on the image of Thailand as a backpacking destination. Topics discussed include understanding image perceptions of both visitors and non-visitors, assessment of destination image perceptions, and analysis of existing perceptions literature concerning backpackers. Also presented is a table comparing non-visitors perceptions of Thailand as a backpacking destination.
