Abstract

Paper describes application of the Spline Quaternion Lifting Scheme (SQLS) to multiresolution decomposition of human gait data coded in from of quaternion signal. The analysis was conducted on the base of multiresolution representation and relative energy and entropy to quantitative assessment of energy in each scale (frequency) and information about concentration of energy across scales. The paper describes preliminary analysis results of 18 participants whole body gait time series extracted from treadmill gait sequences which were recorded in the Human Motion Laboratory (HML) of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (Bytom, Poland) by the Vicon system.
