Abstract

The article discusses how current public health strategies for schistosomiasis involves decreasing morbidity through preventive chemotherapy. It notes that periodic large-scale administration of the drug praziquantel focusing on the school-aged population and high-risk adults aims to reduce the prevalence and intensity of infection.
