Abstract

The article discusses how Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and several other imcumbent candidates defeated their opponents in the city's Democratic Party primary elections that were held on June 19, 2018, and it mentions how members of the Black Lives Matter social movement disrupted Bowser's election victory speech. Voting tallies involving Washington, D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson and candidates Charles Allen and Brianne Nadeau are assessed.
