Synthesis and Cross-linking Properties of MMA/BA/DAAM Copolymer Emulsion.

In this study, the high solid content and storage stability' of polymer emulsion was prepared by the semi-continuous microemulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA)/butyl acrylate (BA)/diacetone acrylamide (DAAM) and the corresponding self-crosslinked copolymers using the adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH) as crosslinking agent. It was found that the degree of cross-linking of the polymer reaches maximum at pH=5, and DAAM of 4% and DAAM / ADH = 1.5/1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
