Abstract
- The article analyzes masculinity in young adult literature. It analyzes two young adult novels from two very different cultures including "Mountain Called Me" and "Flour Babies" and seeks to compare the impact of social forces on the masculinization process of their protagonists. It is noted that both novels depict interdependence between young adult masculinity and social elements and exemplifying the impact of social forces on the construction of gender identities.
