This article describes a test involving 10 leading and generic brands of paper towels. To gauge the strength of each towel, testers determined the number of grapes one sheet could hold under running water without ripping. The test suggests that Bounty Double Quilted is the strongest. Bounty towels won the grape test, they could hold 136 grapes, or 27.8 ounces. Half the tested brands ripped under the weight of just 80 grapes. The disadvantages include rough texture and not a good stand-in for facial tissues.
