Abstract
- The recent and important article by Robert David Sack misses the crucial philosophical point of "spatial prediction." All the concepts of temporal prediction correspond to spatial prediction. The invention of a new word obscures the central point that the new application of prediction automatically picks up all the power and utility of the old. Descriptive statistics becomes location theory in geography. The purpose of thinking about how best to do geography is to do better geography.
