Abstract
- The article presents information about sources and methods used in the compilation of the map, "Population Origin Groups in Rural Texas." By itself, the map is of value, but it will attain greater usefulness and importance if research efforts are made to relate the origins pattern to various cultural, political, economic, and environmental distributions. Too often, perhaps, researchers fail to use the vast storehouse of geographical information possessed by these rural people. Certain individuals have been especially helpful and deserve mention. They are farmers, county newspaper editors, rural ministers. Production costs for this map were contributed by the Faculty Research Fund, North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, Arizona State University, Tempe and the Association of American Geographers.
