Addressing the African American Achievement Gap.

The article discusses factors that contribute to the achievement gap between African Americans and White Americans children and provides recommendation for educators, administrators and policy makers to help equalize educational opportunities. Topics discussed include creating unique ways to learn language depending on experiences in their language communities, importance of interpersonal relationships to provide consistent physical care, social guidance and emotional support in children.
