A life's work on trade and development.

Abstract: This paper reflects on the career contributions of Professor Chris Milner to the literature on international trade and economic development. As such, it not only provides an overview of a life's work, but also sets the context for the nine papers which follow. All of these were specially written for this Special Issue of <italic>The World Economy</italic>, and all relate to different areas that Professor Milner worked in. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
