Abstract

The article presents case study of a 43-year-old woman with chronic painless ascites. She was diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with secondary antiphospholipid antibody syndrome based on clinical symptoms and laboratory findings of butterfly rash, bicytopenia, and positive antinuclear antibodies, and she was treated with high-dose prednisolone. After treatment, portal vein thrombosis, acalculous cholecystitis, and pulmonary hypertension improved.
