Recasting Pensions in Europe: Policy Challenges and Political Strategies to Pass Reforms.

The article deals with the political risk associated with the implementation of pension reforms in Switzerland and its comparison with the experiences of other European Union (EU) countries. Topics discussed include the impact of population aging on pension systems, austerity measures adopted by EU countries and pension reforms in the aftermath of financial crisis. The factors contributing to the weakening of the pro-reform consensus are mentioned.
