Abstract

The holy book of Qur'an is a book that has the perfection of all aspects either in terms of its meaning or its reading rules. The Qur'an is still maintained and guided by all Muslims in the world until now. Besides of having a high language, the beauty of the Qur'an can also be seen in terms of its reading rules that known as the rules of tajwid. The beauty of reading Qur'an can be seen when there is a combination of the sound of Qur'anic alphabet that be read according to the correct reading rules. However, the division of tajwid rules that need to be applied in the reading of the Qur'an is so widespread. In learning tajwid, the classification of each rules is divided into several parts. Each of these rules also shows the different process and ways of reading them even though they are classified in a same category of rule. So that, this paper is made to discuss about one part of the rule involving the nasal sound (quiescent nun and nunation) exists in the Qur'an words. The main purpose of this paper is to show the relevance of the existence of the assimilation process in tajwid rules with other speech languages in Malaysia such as Malay and English. This assimilation process is a process of merging a sound into the sound of a consonant that comes after it. This nasal assimilation process seen in the tajwid rules that affected the way how to pronounce Qur'an words in certain rules. For instance Idgham Bila al-Ghunnah, Idgham Maal Ghunnah, Ikhfa' Hakiki, Izhar Halqi, and Iqlab. Thus, this paper is hoped to help the reader to recognize the assimilation process in these three parts differently. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
