ADVANCED FLOOD FORECASTING FOR MALAYSIA.

The article reports on the collaboration between HR Wallingford and the Malaysian Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) to develop a National Flood Forecasting and Warning System (NaFFWS) for its key river basins that will help them to prepare and mitigate the effects of future floods, using an integrated approach via non-structural measures. Topics discussed include components of the NaFFWS, and impact of these floods on communities and businesses in Malaysia.
