Abstract

The article discusses the traumatic history of Somalis, who have been at the centre of forced migration and diaspora, by studying Somali Canadian women who arrived in Canada in the years between 1990 and 2008. Topics discussed include the purpose of the research being to learn the impact of historical trauma on ethnic Somalian groups, and implications of current policy and programming strategies in resettlement of Somali refugees.
